I didn't watch the Pacman fight last night but from all the reports I've read, the split decision against him was shocking. Most people had pacman up by 4 or 5 rounds. Fair play to Pacman as he was respectful afterwards and posed with pictures with Bradley with the belt. The fights on YouTube at the moment but there's always a risk of it being taken down at any minute so if you want to see it I recommend watching it just now. I'm going to watch it just now and see if it was a robbery or not. Kevin
Paddypower refunded all people who bet on Pacman to win on points! Now that is a company I'm proud is Irish!
I've just finished watching the fight. I expected it to be a close fight due to the split decision but it was anything but. Bradley certainly wasn't mauled by Pacquiao but Pacman clearly won the fight. In a few rounds Bradley threw more punches but most punches didn't land and Pacman had more punches landed and more significant. Pacman was throwing some big punches but Bradleys were usually hitting Pacman on the arm or were silly little slaps that were clearly doing little damage. Before the decision was made, the commentator gave his score on the fight. He had Pacman winning every round except the 10th. Ironically, in that round the metrics showed that they had the same amount of punches landed and same amount of significant strikes. Even if Bradley takes the 10th, it's still a landslide. The judges called the fight 115-113 Pacquiao, 115-113 Bradley and 115-113 Bradley. How two judges can award Bradley it for 7 rounds to 5 is beyond me. Something is definitely a foul with this decision. Look at the final stats for the fight. Bradley threw more punches but was landed very few in comparison to Pacman. It was clear to everyone that Pac was landing more punches and more of them were doing damage than Bradleys slaps. The stats for power punches (i.e. significant strikes) are much the same. Pacman was an absolute gent at the end and congratulated Bradley and his team on the win. I definitely think something is up though. I don't know if it's politics, bribes, hidden agendas or a plan overall for them to do a rematch. Whatever it is, it stinks. It's a shame as I enjoy watching boxing but this kind of thing has ruined the sport. More fights go to decision than MMA due to the nature of the sport, so they will need to sort this out if they want the sport to thrive again. Why can't they use compubox for scoring? I know that punches landed and power punches landed doesn't tell the whole story of a fight but the end result is surely better than leaving it to biased judges.
Boxing is corrupt from the top to the bottom. I love boxing but if the judges are going to pick whoever they want, regardless of who was better, then what's the point in watching. At least Vince MacMahon is open about the fact wrestling is staged.
Thats a great gesture. I'm no huge boxing fan, but I have watched this now, and totally shocked. I had it, on my admittedly amatuer minded score card, 9 rounds to 3.
At a push I'd give Bradley the 1st, 10th and 12th rounds but I think Compubox shows pac landed more punches on those rounds.
This is a major controversial loss, http://copcop.net/manny-pacquiao-fight-was-the-fix-in/ This might show you how bad it was
